What made you want to get into coaching?
After a period of not enjoying who I was in my early 20s, I started to work with an incredible coach and I grew into a version of myself I had never thought was possible. Since then, I’ve been on a mission to help other women gain what I had gained, and to show them the strength that lies within them.
What’s it like being a strong female coach in a male-dominated industry?
I quite enjoy being a woman in this industry because I thrive in conditions where people underestimate me. I love to prove people wrong and rise above others’ perceptions of what I can or can’t do. Sometimes I’ll admit that it can be intimidating to be on the gym floor, but when I push through this intimidation, the sense of achievement that I feel is unmatched.
What’s your favourite thing about being a coach?
Watching people grow in confidence to believe in themselves more and more everyday is easily the best part of the job.
What advice would you give to women starting in fitness?
Be bold, be brave, own your energy, know your worth, and put the work in. Doing the work and educating yourself in the industry are among the most important things you can do when you’re starting out – no one else is going to put this time into your business, so it’s vital that you do. One of my favourite quotes that reflects this message – and one that I try to live by – is “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard”.

You are powerful beyond measure. Believe in yourself, because everything you need to get to where you want to go is already inside of you.
