The time has come! Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland is about to host one of the biggest sporting events in the world — the FIFA Women’s Football World Cup 2023. Get ready for seven interviews with wāhine toa about their careers, values, communities, and why Auckland co-hosting the FIFA Women’s Football World Cup 2023 is so significant to the city and women.

Kicking it off is Laura Menzies, the Chief Executive of Northern Region Football.

“Inspiring the next generation is a big part of my why, because I think every young person can achieve their dreams by being connected to nature and connected to sport, and I think it is crucial that we give every young person that opportunity — to believe in themselves and realise their dreams,” says Menzies.

“This will be the biggest Women’s World Cup that’s ever been staged in the world, and it will showcase women and women’s sport in the most brilliant light.”
