The textbook move would have been to stick with marketing. But Emma Lewisham has always been passionate about sustainable business practice and when the Aucklander couldn’t find 100 percent natural luxury skincare with scientifically backed results, she gave up a successful marketing career to start her own line.

Emma’s eponymous range was launched in late 2019 and there are now seven products, ranging from serums to moisturisers. “We are one of the fastest-growing local skincare brands and are sold in Australia, the US, UK and Singapore,” says Emma, mother of Milla, two.

Which beauty products do you always have in your bathroom?

I always have a shampoo and conditioner in the shower, as well as a tangle-free hairbrush. My eyelash curler and a lipstick usually travel with me wherever I go.

What are your favourite beauty products?

Emma Lewisham Skinreset serum

I’m not just saying this but the Emma Lewisham Skin Reset Serum is a definite favourite! It’s the result of five years of scientific research and is scientifically proven to prevent and reverse the signs of hyperpigmentation (dark skin spots), a common skin concern. It has worked wonders for my pigmentation, brightness and the overall tone and texture of my skin.

Sans [ceuticals] Nourishing Hair Hydratant

I have very thick, long hair so both Sans [Ceuticals] and Chloe Zara haircare products work for me. Both brands use natural products and have Kiwi founders. I think it’s key to support as many local brands as possible.

Chloe Zara Silk Hair Wash

Still on the hair front, I love the Tangle Teezer hairbrush as it doesn’t pull or damage my hair. It’s the best one I can find on the market for my hair.

Emma Lewisham Skinshield SPF30

I’m a huge fan of sun protection because our sun is so harsh here in Aotearoa New Zealand. I never leave home without applying Emma Lewisham Skin Shield SPF30. Daily sun protection is the best thing you can do to protect your skin and keep it healthy.

Rouge Hermès, Matte Lipstick in Rouge H.

Hermes Red Rouge H lipstick is my go-to colour, I wear it most days. It’s a beautiful, bold but natural red hue that adds an instant boost to my face.
